Presidents' Day

Presidents' Day (2017-02-20)

The Presidents Day / Washington's Birthday is a federal holiday in US. It is celebrated on the third Monday in February.

It is a federal holiday, so it concerns only federal governments and officials, however all states do not have to implement the same regulations.

At the beginning, the holiday was implemented to honor George Washington and it was the first holiday to honor an American citizen. It was celebrated on February 22, which was the actual Washington's birthday.
Later, many states has renamed their Washington's Birthday observances as "Presidents' Day", even thought Lincoln's birthday (February 12) was never a federal holiday.

A few states still celebrates separately Washington's and Lincoln's birthday.

Nowadays the President's Day is said to commemorate all US Presidents.

Take this opportunity and send ecards, presidential quotes and wishes in this special day.
